Dortmund's acoustex trade fair postponed to November
Dortmund, 14 April 2021 – Given the way the COVID pandemic is trending, it is simply not possible to make any sure-footed plans to hold acoustex in June as intended. “To stage a trade fair like acoustex, all players – organisers, exhibitors and trade visitors – need a great deal of long-term planning certainty. However, at the most recent meeting of Germany's federal and state governments, leaders were unable to offer the trade fair industry any tangible prospects for resuming operations in the near future,” said Sabine Loos, Managing Director of Westfalenhallen Unternehmensgruppe GmbH. Given the responsibility for the health of exhibitors and trade visitors, and with a view to offering them more planning certainty, a suitable date at the end of November 2021 has now been pinpointed in collaboration with partners, associations and exhibitors.
“We are moving our sights forward with confidence to the second half of 2021, when the ramping up of vaccinations and improved testing strategies will be instrumental in reviving the events sector,” added Loos. acoustex 2021 will be putting the spotlight on a varied line-up of exhibitors and concentrated acoustics expertise. Expert specialist talks are among the highlights of the acoustex supporting programme, which will offer trade visitors in-depth insights into new topics and trends in the industry.
Messe Dortmund has also used the intervening period to evolve acoustex for this year's event, adding fresh focal points in the form of two new themed areas: Silent Living & Working, and Silent City. Responding to the wishes of the industry, acoustex will now be held at two-year intervals, in line with the sector's innovation cycle.
acoustex will take place on 24 and 25 November 2021.
